Hawaii, Day 7...

Photobucket

Day seven was a very busy day!! I think we spent about a 1/2 hour at our pool before we left to take Grandpa back to the airport. Is was so hard say goodbye after all the fun we had with him. It was also sad to hear Dakota call out for him when we were in the room or out by the pool during our last few days. She even "knock knock'd" on his door. Oh well, we'll be seeing him again soon. And hopefully we can all go do Disneyland with him in the future. Hint hint! lol

After we dropped Grandpa off, it was off to one of the local malls to meet one of my internet friends. Yes, I have internet friends. For most of you that are reading this or who have been following my blog the entire time, you know what I'm talking about. For those of you who don't, I use to frequent the Whattoexpect.com website during my pregnancy, as well as after Dakota was born. I made so many friends on that site, and all these mom's have kids that were born during the same month as Dakota. Anyway, my internet friend, Laura, lives in Maui and we thought it would be great to meet up so our kids could play together. Her son's name is Ethan and he is just the cutest, most kickback kid I've ever met. He totally has the Hawaiian personality of being so chill. And, Laura was so sweet to buy Dakota this cute little Hawaiian doll, which she really likes!

Anyway, the two of them ran around the little play area in the mall for about an hour, which was exhausting because they were EVERYWHERE! Laura eventually had to leave to pick up her other kids, but she came back so we could go to this little shaved ice stand, then over to the park so they could play some more. The park over there had the coolest playground I've ever seen. There was so much to do, I just wish we would have had more time to stay and play!

Unfortunately, we had to say goodbye to our friends!! It was such a nice visit and I hope we can get together again someday! After we left the park, we headed over to the Westin to meet Grandpa and Grandma one more time. We decided to check out their pool and try their waterslides. The Westin doesn't have quite as many pools and slides, but they did have a really neat tube slide that Dakota was able to go on her own. She always had a great time on the slides at our hotel, but something about this one made Dakota all giddy and squealy. Grandpa and Daddy really enjoyed watching her come out the end. You have to check out the video below. It's so funny!

This is a hilarious video, and probably one of our favorites...

After an hour or so in the pool, we headed back up to Grandma and Grandpa's room to change for dinner. We dressed Dakota in this pretty white dress and put a pretty lei atop her head. She looked just like an Angel, and we got so many comments at dinner and as we walked along the beach walk. Such a wonderful compliment. This momma was beaming with pride!

After dinner, we said our last goodbyes!! It was so great to meet up with them, and what better place to do it than Hawaii!! Thank you Grandpa and Grandma for the great time, wonderful memories, and awesome dinner!!

As we headed back to our hotel, we decided to stop in Lahaina one last time to see the Banyan tree. I knew Dakota loved it, and figured she could run around a little bit while we ate shaved ice. Unfortunately, I ordered the worst combination ever...banana and pineapple. The banana 1/2 was great, but the pineapple part was just gross!! Maybe I was expecting something different, but none of us liked it. Oh well, lesson learned.

After our long day, I thought for sure Dakota would be out for the count, but she wasn't! So, we decided to go down to the pool once again. It was a lot of fun and this time Daddy and Dakota went down one of the slides. Such rebels I tell ya! lol
