Weekend Recap...

We started the weekend off by taking Dakota to Gymboree for open-play on Friday night. She loves when daddy comes along, since he never actually goes to her play & learn gym class. Here she is livin' it up Dakota style...

Bubble Buddy
She caught her 1st bubble and was completely entranced

A video of Dakota and her bubble buddy...

She's so graceful!! LOL

She plays hard, but will always make time for hugs

I can't believe we've been going to Gymboree for 9 months now. She was only 5 1/2 months old when I first started taking her. She couldn't even crawl yet. I'll never forget her first visit. We had just sat down on the mat as the teacher brought out Gymbo the clown. She was squirming in excitement just to be around all the other babies, as well as see the colorful clown for the first time. She let out a super loud squeal and giggle and everyone started laughing. I knew right then and there that Gymboree was for her! Here are some photos of Dakota at Gymboree when she was just 5 1/2 months old.

On Saturday, we grabbed breakfast at our favorite donut shop and then ran a few errands. While we were out and about we decided to make a stop at Adventure City for a little afternoon fun. Dakota certainly enjoyed herself...

Ferris Wheel
As I was looking through the pictures, I couldn't help but notice their identical expressions in all four photos.

Look out, it's the FIVE-O!!
She so looked the part!!

This is how she rolls...

Life on the Beat...

Dakota was so excited to see the animals...

The Magic Bus

She wasn't the least bit scared!!

Of course, we couldn't pass up the carousel

Later that night we left Dakota home with Grandma Hampton, while Kev and I headed out for a dinner date. We ate at one of my favorite restaurants, called Chomps. I had some sushi (Mmmm!) and teppan, while Kevin had a super yummy steak. No joke, it was probably the best steak we have ever had. But aside from the delicious dinner, it was really nice for the two of us to get out and enjoy each others company. We really need to do that more often!

Today we didn't do a whole lot. Just hung out around the house and played with the cat. Yep, the same cat that just appeared on our porch a few days ago has decided to set up camp. What did I expect after feeding him, right? Rest assured, he WILL be an outdoor cat. It's difficult enough cleaning up after a toddler. I don't need fleas and fur added to the mix. Dakota sure loves him though. She'll bang on the front door until we let her out to see him. If he's not already out there, she'll run to the other side of the porch to look for him, since that's where he always appears from. Here they are hanging out on the porch...
