Montana...Day 8

Today, Kevin and I took the paddle boat out for a little cruise around the lake while Dakota took a nap. It was a nice little getaway. I love him so much!!! I wish we had a few more moments like this...

We putted around and admired the little things...lily pads, dragon flies, the HUGE sky, fluffy clouds, turtles, and an otter. Yes, an otter!!! I actually thought it was a beaver, but Grandpa Keyworth said it was in fact an otter. I looked it up, and sure enough it was!!

Sleeping beauty eventually woke up, so we thought we'd take her for a little walk. Dakota saddled up and trotted off with daddy. They're so cute to watch. He's such a wonderful father...

We stumbled upon a HUGE ant hill (YUCK!!), as well as a wild turkey and her babies...

Later that evening, the five of us took a drive over to Grandma and Grandpa's friends house for dinner and badminton. I can't begin to tell you how fabulous their house was. I mean, it was awesome! They even had a giant moose head mounted on their wall. Dakota was just beside herself when she saw it. I had to take a picture of it so she could enjoy it later too. Their house also sits along the Kootenai River. They have the best view from their living room. I can't tell you how envious we are! We took Dakota out to look at the river...

Getting tickled by Daddy...

We made our way back to their house just in time to enjoy a wonderful dinner. We ate our hearts out. There wasn't one thing that any of us didn't like. We had chicken, deer burgers (mmmm!), fresh salmon, chicken salad that was to die for, tortellini with sundried tomatoes, and rhubarb cobbler for dessert. Dakota was even lovin' it! Her hunger strike had finally ended and she was back to enjoying food. She even had a few bites of deer. Although, I think the salmon was her fave.

Dakota exploring the grounds after dinner...

Playing a little badminton. We actually did pretty good...

Dakota wanted to play too!!

Daddy thought she'd have more fun doing acrobatics...
